Furloughed flight attendants who are based in Boston held a rally outside the office of Ed Markey, the junior U.S. Senator for Massachusetts, on Monday.The members of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO union -- who have been out of work since Oct. 1 -- are calling for Congress to pass a COVID-19 relief package to help struggling workers."Boston is a very expensive city and unemployment, that strictly covers my rent: no other means or anything else, strictly rent," said Kacy Lunceford, a furloughed United Airlines flight attendant. "So for me, I'm going to have to find a new job and hope my roommates find new jobs, as well, just so we can all make rent."In a tweet, Markey said that he stands with the flight attendants who rallied outside his Boston office. He added that Congress must immediately extend Payroll Support Program payments in order to help save tens of thousands of jobs and to roll back the cuts that have already been made."We cannot wait any longer to protect our front-line workers in the sky," Markey tweeted.
